Thermochromic microcapsules
I. Core Features
1. Intelligent color-changing mechanism
Reversible temperature-sensitive response: It repeatedly changes color with temperature changes, usually showing color at low temperatures and colorless at high temperatures (for example, it shows red below 31℃ and colorless above 31℃).
Precise temperature control range: By adjusting the composition of the temperature control agent, the color change temperature covers -15℃ to 70℃, with common ranges including 22 ℃ to 42℃ (such as 31℃ red, 40℃ yellow, etc.).
Color-changing sensitivity: The new generation of microcapsules, by adding high thermal conductivity nanoparticles (such as silica), control the color-changing lag within 1℃, significantly enhancing the response speed.
2. Physical and chemical stability
Microcapsule structure: A transparent shell with a particle size of 1 to 10μm encases the core material, providing solvent resistance, oxidation resistance and processing protection. The core material load rate can reach 65%.
Temperature resistance and weather resistance: The upper limit of heat resistance is 220 to 240℃. Light stabilizers or antioxidants (such as phenolic heat stabilizers are prohibited) should be used in combination to extend the service life.
Safety: Complies with EN-71 and RoHS standards, non-toxic and non-irritating to the skin, suitable for food packaging and toys.
3. Process compatibility
Supports dispersion in water-based/oil-based systems, suitable for coating, ink and plastic processing;
It is necessary to avoid highly polar solvents (such as ethanol and acetone) from damaging the structure of microcapsules.
