Introduction of pearl pigment
Pearlescent pigments are composed of substances with a high refractive index, which acts as interference filters in ambient media with a low refractive index. These filters divide the incident light at a suitable angle between the interfaces of materials with different refractive indices into the reflected and transmitted parts of the complementary color (incident light at other angles can also be absorbed and reflected).
